Senior Universal Bankers at Albina:

  • Maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of appropriate banking laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures, and complies fully with those laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Serve as first contact to answer phones and responds appropriately.
  • Is thoroughly familiar with the Bank's deposit and deposit related products and services, e.g. merchant services, cash management, etc., consumer loan products, and small business loan products.
  • Comply with all deposit and lending banking laws and regulations and internal transaction policies and procedures.
  • Profile new clients and opens new deposit accounts, and sources consumer and small business loans.
  • Prepare signature cards and other new account documents, and receives deposit.
  • Accept consumer and small business loan packages, and enters data into loan scoring system, if applicable. Provides customer with documents and disclosures, and participates in loan signings.
  • Actively sell and cross sell bank products and services.
  • Provide assistance to customers and bank staff through prompt and courteous service and resolution of problems. This may involve research to identify the problem. Always follows up promptly to be certain the problem is fully resolved.
  • In order to best meet customer needs, actively seeks the referral of customers and prospects for the sale and cross sale of additional products and services to appropriate sales staff.
  • Board new accounts into the appropriate systems. Must follow instructions exactly to assure no error on customer accounts. Sets up files for each account.
  • Update customer information such as address changes, card orders, account file maintenance, etc.
  • Involved in community volunteer and marketing efforts, and appropriate business and neighborhood associations.
  • Function as a backup to Customer Service Representatives and Customer Service Manager.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in sales, new accounts and customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all over-the-counter customer services.
  • Must exercise accuracy, alertness, good judgment, initiative, courtesy, tact and patience in dealing with all levels of the organization, as well as with vendors and suppliers used by the Bank.
  • Well developed written and communication skills and the ability to be effectively organized in a fluid environment.
  • Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Word, Excel and other software programs needed for performance of duties.
  • Good math skills are required.
