Processes a variety of basic customer account transactions and provides prompt, courteous, and friendly service. Actively sells and cross-sells bank services. Processes a variety of routine checking and savings deposits and withdrawals with limited supervision; seeks assistance with more complex transactions. Sells personal money orders and cashiers checks. Processes mail transactions and night deposit bags. Balances cash drawer daily. Typically an entry level teller position, under direct supervision and in a training capacity.

Essential Functions 
• Ensures all service level expectations are met as stated in the Albina Principles of PRIDE program.
• Maintains a strong knowledge and understanding of appropriate banking laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures, and complies fully with those laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Adheres to Bank's quality of service standards, as well as Bank policy and procedural guidelines for the position; greets customers promptly and establishes a high quality customer service environment through a courteous, friendly attitude, and professional appearance.
• Sets up teller window with currency and coin within authorized cash limit. Follows security guidelines at all times to maintain a high level of safety for the Bank and the Bank's assets.
• Balances cash drawer as scheduled; adheres to balancing guidelines for a CSR I. Advises supervisor promptly of variances. Receives and processes checking and savings deposits, verifies cash and endorsements. Issue receipts through teller system.
• Advises customers on availability of funds and places holds if appropriate.
• Cashes checks and processes savings withdrawals within prescribed cash and teller limits.
• Receives and processes payments for ACB loans.
• Issues cashier checks, money orders, credit card advances, and other products that may be offered by the Bank.
• In order to best meet customer needs, actively seeks opportunities to cross sell additional products and services to existing customers, and makes prospect and client referrals to appropriate sales staff. Responsible for meeting cross-sell and referral goals as set by supervisor / manager.
• Accepts assignments to assist with statement preparation, ATM deposits, night deposits and deposits received by mail.

Skill and Experience Needed
• Prior experience in customer service oriented position.
• 6 – 12 months cash handling experience preferred.
• Good math skills are required.
• Must exercise accuracy, alertness, good judgment, initiative, courtesy, tact and patience in dealing with customers, both internal and external.
• Well developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to be effectively organized in a fluid environment.
• Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Word, Excel and other software programs needed for performance of duties.
